Supporting Students
Anonymous Course Feedback Forms
Advocate for anonymous feedback forms for every class during the first weeks of the semester so that remote or hybrid courses can make adjustments early on.
First-Year Programming
Advocate for residential colleges and ODUS to provide limited and intentional programming that facilitates first-years' integration into co-curricular and (if relevant) campus life.
Grading Policy Transparency
Push for departments to release their grading policies early in the semester so that students (especially first-years and sophomores who have not declared) can make informed coursework decisions.
Interclass Community Building
Build on USG programs like Buds at a Distance (run by USG’s Undergraduate Student Life Committee and Letters to Strangers) to provide opportunities for interclass community building.
Course Assignments and Feedback
Ensure that courses give assignments at reasonable intervals throughout the semester and provide feedback to students regularly rather than pack graded work towards the end of the semester.
Community Dining
If students return to campus, explore piloting a program to fund off-campus dining through a campus office such as SIFP. A program like this could provide access to dining options beyond the dining halls in a socially distanced semester.
